What is Professional Interpreter Training?

Find work and help others by maximizing your interpretation skills. 

To start, register for the Community Interpreter Training. This online training course is designed for current and would-be community interpreters who wish to further their knowledge or gain new knowledge of interpreting protocols. The course is based on 70 hours of study and includes study materials, case studies, audio recordings, video demonstration and quizzes.

After you've completed your training, take the Community Interpreter Language and Interpreting Skills Assessment Tool (CILISAT) test to qualify for professional accreditation and certification.

Online Interpreter Training

The following online training courses will help you to learn or expand your knowledge in the area of interpreting protocols and terminology. They will also provide you with the flexibility to study remotely, at your own pace:

Community Interpreter Training (CIT) Medical Knowledge and Terminology Training (MKTT)

Take The Certification Test (Community Interpreter Language and Interpreting Skills Assessment Tool)

Interpreter Proficiency Test – CILISAT (Community Interpreter Language and Interpreting Skills Assessment Tool)

This test evaluates the language and interpretation proficiency of individuals who want to pursue a career in language services. The CILISAT test is administered at our offices.
