Please join us in congratulating Nidhi Patadia for being nominated as Immigrant Services Calgary’s Volunteer of the month for December 2020!

Nidhi became a volunteer in July, 2020. Since then, she has been a constant source of support and positivity. When she started volunteering, Immigrant Services Calgary had transitioned services online. We needed support from volunteers like Nidhi to help deliver virtual services.

Please join us in congratulating Stanley Ukaga, for being nominated Immigrant Services Calgary’s volunteer of the month for October 2020! Stanley began volunteering with us in January of this year, and quickly got involved in helping with community and ISC programs. He has been an invaluable supporter of many of the virtual workshops and trainings we have held since the COVID-19 pandemic began. He has acted as a notetaker and facilitator for virtual community meetings, as well as a workshop assistant for ISC’s Online Citizenship Study Classes.

On September 21, 2020, Immigrant Services Calgary is initiating a transformation in the way newcomers to southern Alberta access the support they need to become thriving members of Canadian society. The agency is launching a project to create Gateway, a novel approach to coordinating and delivering settlement services that aims to improve the effectiveness of the immigrant-serving sector and make it easier for newcomers to navigate the system.
